CADILLAC DIGITAL WEB GUIDELINES

In early 2022 Cadillac Brand Strategy & Visual Identity Guidelines were released as a valuable resource for agencies. However, the digital chapter within the extensive 250-page document was limited in scope, offering only a few pages dedicated to digital media interpretation.

A first for our clients and the agency, I created a digital/web guideline to accompany the Cadillac Brand Strategy & Visual Identity Guidelines to serve as a vital resource for maintaining a consistent and impactful digital/web presence. We were limited by GM business and couldn’t create a Figma Library to share, the solution was to create a shareable PDF.

THE BRIEF:

Brand guidelines are created to help designers create products that are cohesive with the brand strategy and styling approach.

I used the pillars within the brand strategy wheel to guide the Cadillac story:
Bold, Sophisticated and Optimistic

  • Adhere to and extend the strategic goals of Bold, Sophisticated and Optimistic

  • Inform teams and designers about how to use the brand in their products

  • Express with clarity the themes and 
strategy for applying visual identity

  • Ensure its easily updatable through learning and feedback from teams using the brand

  • Define in a way that can be applied to other brand work

THE RESULT:

  • 111 page document, continues to change and grow with the brand

  • Easily shared document

  • Win for the agency as it placed us in a leadership position to review web work to ensure it aligns leading to additional scope

  • Sell this if you’re clients aren’t already asking for it
